?I love shapes and the challenge of creating new forms. I love line, movement and mystery. I love harmony and intricacies. I love wild emotions and colour. I love the natural world and cities. I love?to explore culture, technology and question reality. I love to meditate, play sport, and drink coffee. Life is play for me really.? Karma Sirikogar?s explosively dimensional works are both intuitive and considered, conveying a sense of meditative formalism. Her imaginative compositions are suggestively inspired by geometric man made structures, organic forms found in the natural world and a powerful sense of femininity. Her work can be described as a synthesis of abstraction and surrealism. Karma was born 1987 in Singapore, is a citizen of Thailand and is an Indian diasporic artist of Punjabi descent. Her formal training includes a Bachelor in Art Direction from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in Australia, and a diploma in printmaking at Tagore?s Kala Bhavan Institute of Fine Arts in India. She has exhibited, and participated in numerous art residencies around the world, and has worked with brands like Vodafone, Starboard, Esquire Magazine and Converse. Working in the mediums of street art, sculpture, drawing, printmaking and painting, Karma?s approach is multidisciplinary. She lives and works in Bangkok, Thailand.?Karma International was founded in 2008 by Karolina Dankow and Marina Olsen in Zurich. The young gallery was established on the foundation of a non-profit space previously run under the same name. Since the beginning Dankow and Olsen, who both have a PhD in Art History, have placed a strong emphasis on unique conceptual positions, expanding art ideas by presenting engaging work in a combination of individual artist and spirited thematic group shows. Many works are created in situ and are developed in reciprocity with the gallery space.
