Kavita Shah

This Baroda based artist has had several solo as well as group shows to her credit. She participated in the International Print Bienneale, Bharat Bhawan, Bhopal and in 1995 in the 40th National Exhibition of Contemporary Art at Bangalore. In 1997 the artist was invited by the French embassy to work in Paris. In the same year Kavita also exhibited at the Portland Art Museum, U.S.A. In 1998, Kavita exhibited at "Mois de l`Estamps,"Paris, France. The artist has also been recognised by the All India Art Society of Gulbarga with its award in Printmaking in1989 and by the Gujarat State Lalit Kala Academy. Apart from which she has also recieved a fellowship from the Kanoria Centre for Arts, Ahmedabad for printmaking. Besides concentrating on her work Kavita, has put her creativity into several other projects. She designed the sets and costumes for the film, "Gandhari Aline" an Indo-German venture, has participated in several workshops related to printmaking and has held a puppet workshop for children at Kanoria Centre for Arts, Ahmedabad. She has also visited several artists and printmakers in France, U.K. and Netherlands during a tour.
