Tejas Ambalkar

Tejas completed his B.F.A. (Painting), Govt. School of Art, Aurangabad, Maharashtra, 1989 and did a post graduate Diploma in Graphics from M.S. University, Vadodara, Gujarat, 1994. He was participated in major exhibitions such as the Maharashtra State Exhibition in 1995 and1997; Bombay Art Society, 1996; International Print Biennial, Bharat Bhavan,Bhopal,1993,97,2004,2006;.National Exhibition of Contemporary Art, Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi, 1993, 2001, 02, 04;Harmony Art, Contemporary Works: India, Mumbai, 2008;Multiple Encounters, Indo-US Prints Exhibition,2006,2012. Tejas also has many awards to his credit like the Research Grant, Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi, 1994; Bendre-Hussain Scholarship, Mumbai, 1998; Honourable Mention, 5thInternational Print Biennial, Bharat Bhavan, Bhopal, 1996; Camlin Art Foundation Award, Mumbai, 2002; Senior Fellowship by Department of Culture, Govt. of India, and 2009-2011. His works are in the collections of the U. P. State Lalit Kala Akademi, Lucknow. Bharat Bhavan, Bhopal. North Central Zone Cultural Centre, Allahabad. South Central Zone Cultural Centre, Nagpur M. A. Centre for Indian Culture, Cairo, Egypt. His paintings were considered for auction at the Tehelka, Art for Freedom, 2007.
