Rajesh Ranjan Mohanty known as Rajesh Ranjan (In Odia; ????? ?????), an Indian filmmaker, director, producer, screenwriter, visualiser and poet who is known for his work in eastern India cinema. Rajesh Ranjan Mohanty has used the medium of cinema to cast the spotlight on social and development issues. Rajesh?s directorial debut was The Compassionate Crusader (2012), a non-feature docudrama film, based in the story of a real person who is blind by birth. But, he has never let this disability pull him down. He used the disadvantage to rise above others in the service of physically challenged, that screened in Yes I Can Change Award, Mumbai by Yes Foundation and We Care Film Festival is an effort by the Indian organization Brotherhood, in partnership with UNESCO, to raise awareness and to dispel stereotypes about people with disabilities. He is the recipient of several awards. Rajesh produced his latest feature film Khyudha (2021), which was adopted from Indian author Padma Bhusan Manoj Das?s story Eka Chorira Brutanta (1943). In a decade Rajesh produced and directed more than 40 documentary films, 2 feature films and more than 100 musical in several languages. His films are based on social issues such as disability, women, tribal communities, water and sanitation, education and other developmental issues. The musical film, Utkal Suta (2018), won the award for best musical in South Indian Film Festival (2021), It?s tribute to Odisha that celebrates the formation of the State. The musical featuring 11 singing stars inspires the youth to love their motherland and Aau Nakara Kaha Age Guhari (2017), directed by him have become the humming numbers for all across the Odias. Rajesh?s entry to the world of art and cinema was through Nari Shakti Purashkar Awardee Dr. Sruti Mohapatra, CEO of Swabhiman, who wanted to produce a documentary on fluorosis (2010). The director she was in contact with did not cooperate at the last moment. So, Dr. Mohapatra sought Rajesh?s help. That marked his first step in film-making. He successfully finish the project. Subsequently, He directed and produced several other films. Apart from films, Rajesh is a communication professional who worked for several Government and Non Government Organisation which is included some international funding agencies. He headed a communication house called Footsteps. From his youth day?s he joined a voluntary corps Puri Seva Samiti, founded by Utkalmani Pandit Gopabandhu Das. He received the Governor?s award for social work ? in 2005 and 2007 respectively. His poems have also published in several Odia magazines. He is a passionate photographer who love to capture nature in his lens.
